For teams using Outlook, Teams and Microsoft 365
Make AI useful in Microsoft 365
Practical AI training and onboarding for teams using Microsoft 365, with clear guidance on Copilot access, permissions and everyday work.
When the Copilot button raises more questions than answers
Your team already works in Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel. Some people have AI access, others see different features, and managers want useful work examples before committing to more licences.
ATOM helps business owners, operations leaders and Microsoft 365 teams understand the access they have and build confidence with tasks that suit their roles.
Match the exercise to the capability
Microsoft’s native AI experiences have different boundaries:
- Copilot Chat: available to eligible Microsoft 365 users, with web-based assistance and user-provided content. Supported app context varies by experience.
- Licensed Microsoft 365 Copilot: extends assistance across organisational information the user is permitted to access and provides fuller capabilities in supported apps.
- Agents and connected workflows: may involve separate licensing or usage charges, configuration and approval. A standard chat session does not establish a working integration. See Microsoft’s agent licensing guidance.
Your subscription, assigned licences, administrator settings and file permissions determine what is available. We check these with your Microsoft 365 administrator or provider. See Microsoft’s current Copilot Chat overview.
Workplace examples to assess
- Outlook: prepare a response for review using the context available to the user’s approved experience.
- Word: turn an approved outline into a first draft, then check facts, structure and tone.
- Teams: review a meeting summary where the relevant capability and meeting settings permit it; confirm decisions and action owners.
- Excel: ask for help interpreting an approved dataset or drafting a formula, then validate it against the source.
These are illustrative tasks, subject to feature availability. AI output needs review before it becomes a client communication, decision or system update.
How ATOM helps
We connect practical exercises with your roles and information-handling rules. Training covers useful prompts, checking outputs and knowing when to stop. Onboarding can also identify document ownership, sharing issues and support needs for your administrator to address.
Start with an access review and one team
Bring your current Microsoft 365 plan, intended participants and one or two recurring tasks to the discovery call. An initial engagement can establish available features, agree safe examples and deliver a scoped team workshop. Configuration changes and workflow implementation are agreed separately with the people responsible for your environment.
Business experience behind the training
ATOM brings operational and technology leadership, systems integration and AI governance experience. The emphasis is on fitting tools to work people need to do. Read our experience or explore organisation-wide adoption.

Frequently asked questions
Is Copilot included in our Microsoft 365 subscription?
Eligible subscriptions include Copilot Chat, but access to broader organisational information and the full experience in supported apps depends on licensing. We check your assigned licences, settings and intended tasks before agreeing training.
Can Copilot read every file in our business?
No. Available information depends on the experience, licensing and existing permissions. Overly broad sharing can still expose information to people who already have access, so permissions need attention before rollout.
Do we need to buy licences for the whole team?
Not necessarily. Start by checking what your existing subscription supports and which roles have a useful case for additional capabilities. Any purchase decision stays with your business.
Can AI send replies or update other systems automatically?
Drafting assistance is different from automation. Agents, connectors and workflow actions may require additional licensing, configuration, permissions and testing. We scope those separately.
