For teams using Gmail, Docs and Google Workspace
Make AI useful in Google Workspace
Practical Gemini training and onboarding for Google Workspace teams, shaped around your edition, available features and everyday business tasks.
When your team wants more than another app
Gmail, Docs, Drive and Meet already hold much of your team’s daily work. Gemini may be available, but people need to understand which features they can use, what information is appropriate and how to check what it produces.
This is for business owners, operations managers and Workspace teams who want practical support within their existing environment.
Understand what your Workspace edition supports
Gemini capabilities are included in eligible Google Workspace editions, with different features and limits. Access to the Gemini app and AI features inside Workspace apps should be checked separately.
For example, Business Starter includes Gemini assistance in Gmail and access to the Gemini app, while Business Standard offers broader AI features across Workspace. We confirm the specific tasks supported by your edition before training. See Google’s edition comparison and Workspace Gemini feature guide.
Administrator controls, user settings and content permissions also matter. Connected Workspace information in the Gemini app requires the relevant settings; enabling the app alone does not establish every connection. See Google’s guidance on connected Workspace apps.
Workplace examples to assess
- Gmail: prepare a draft response from an approved brief and check the details before sending.
- Docs: turn a process outline into a first draft of an internal guide, with a process owner reviewing it.
- Drive: ask questions about permitted source material where the available feature supports it, then check the source.
- Meet: review AI-assisted notes where your edition and meeting settings support them; confirm decisions and actions with participants.
These are illustrative tasks. Availability is checked for your organisation, and AI assistance does not remove the need for a person to review the result.
How ATOM helps
We build exercises around the work your team recognises, explain useful prompts and show people how to identify missing context and inaccurate output. We also agree boundaries for confidential information, approved sources and when to involve your Workspace administrator.
External integrations and automated actions are separate from native drafting and summarising features. Any additional tooling, permissions and implementation are scoped before work begins.
Start with your edition, your team and one workflow
The discovery call establishes your Workspace edition, participants and recurring tasks. An initial engagement can confirm available features and deliver a practical workshop with agreed examples and follow-up guidance. Your administrator remains involved in access and configuration decisions.
Practical business context
ATOM’s background spans technology and operational leadership, business systems and AI governance. That helps connect new features with process ownership and everyday decisions. Read our experience or plan the next step with AI adoption support.
Useful to know
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a separate Gemini subscription?
Eligible Workspace editions include Gemini capabilities, but the features and usage limits vary. We check your edition and intended tasks first. A personal Google AI subscription is not a substitute for checking your organisation's Workspace access and data terms.
Is the Gemini app the same as Gemini inside Gmail or Docs?
They are related experiences with different capabilities and controls. Access to the Gemini app does not mean every AI feature is available in every Workspace app.
Can Gemini use our Drive files and email?
This depends on the experience, available features, administrator and user settings, and access permissions. We establish which sources and information are appropriate before planning exercises.
Will training automate our business processes?
Training helps people use approved capabilities. Connecting external systems or building a repeatable automation may require additional tools, permissions, configuration and testing, which are scoped separately.
